Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has launched the Women Bus Driver Licence Training Project to create new employment opportunities for women and to contribute to strengthening gender equality.
The project has been developed by the Department of Women and Family Services in cooperation with the Department of Transportation. Through this project, the aim is both to train women bus drivers and to open new employment opportunities for women, as well as to contribute to gender equality.
Within the scope of the project, bus driver training will be provided to 25 women aged between 24 and 35 residing in Diyarbakır.
Applications Have Started
Applications, which began on 25 September, can be submitted until 14 October via the link https://kadinsofor.diyarbakir.bel.tr/.
Following the application period, interviews will be conducted with applicants who meet the required conditions.
Comprehensive Training Programme
The 25 women bus driver candidates who qualify for the interviews will receive theoretical, technical, practical, and field training in cooperation with driving schools.
After the women complete the process of obtaining their licences, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality will also provide an additional one-month practical and field training totalling 6 hours.
Driving Course and Licence
The costs of the course training and driving licences within the scope of the project will be covered by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality.
