Collective Clean-Up in Medya Neighbourhood
As part of the “Clean Cities through Collective Effort” campaign, a comprehensive clean-up was carried out on streets and roads, in parks and green spaces, and around derelict buildings in the Medya neighbourhood of Kayapınar district.
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to create clean, healthy and sustainable living environments. Coordinated by the Department of Environmental Protection and Control and carried out in cooperation with Bağlar, Kayapınar, Yenişehir and Sur municipalities, the “Clean Cities through Collective Effort” campaign is continuing across the city.
As part of the campaign, municipal teams and residents are working together to carry out clean-up activities at various locations across the four central districts. Waste accumulated on streets and roads, in parks and green spaces, and around derelict buildings is being cleared to create healthier shared public spaces.
Extensive Clean-Up in Medya Neighbourhood
Medya neighbourhood was one of the locations covered by the campaign in Kayapınar district. Municipal teams and residents carried out an extensive clean-up of the neighbourhood’s streets and roads, as well as its parks, green spaces and derelict buildings.
Kayapınar Municipality Co-Mayor Cengiz Dündar, municipal council members and residents took part in the activities. Working alongside municipal teams, residents contributed to keeping shared public spaces clean.
Joint Effort Across Four Central Districts
The campaign aims not only to carry out physical clean-up work but also to raise environmental awareness and encourage everyone to see keeping the city clean as a shared responsibility. In line with this approach, municipal teams continue their work in neighbourhoods across Bağlar, Kayapınar, Yenişehir and Sur districts.
Campaign to Continue Until 21 August
Launched in Dörtyol in Bağlar district on 10 August, the “Clean Cities through Collective Effort” campaign will continue across the city with clean-up and public awareness activities until 21 August.
