For the first time in eight years, May Day – Labour and Solidarity Day – was celebrated in front of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality’s service building, with the participation of Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun.

The celebration, held for the first time in eight years in front of the Metropolitan Municipality service building, was organised under the leadership of the Department of Press, Publication and Public Relations, the Department of Human Resources and Training, the Trade Union of All Municipal and Local Administration Services Workers (TÜM BEL-SEN) and the General Workers’ Union of the Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions (DİSK Genel-İş). In addition to Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun, municipal staff also took part in the event.

Union representatives also joined the celebrations, where participants danced the halay accompanied by drums and zurna, marking May Day with enthusiasm. Co-Mayors Bucak and Hatun also joined staff in the dance.

Afterwards, the Co-Mayors personally congratulated the employees on Labour and Solidarity Day.
