Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun met with activists and students during their engagements in Paris, France.

Co-Mayors Bucak and Hatun, together with former DBB Co-Mayor Gültan Kışanak, attended a panel organised by the Danielle Mitterrand Foundation, where they met activists and students working in Paris in the fields of ecology and democracy.

During the panel, participants asked the Co-Mayors about people-centred local governance, how civil society is brought into partnership with municipal work, and their questions regarding current developments in Türkiye.

Co-Mayors Bucak and Hatun outlined Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality’s work on women’s services, social support, ecology and youth, and shared examples of activities carried out in cooperation with relevant civil society organisations.
