Co-Mayor Bucak: We are acting with a commitment to the right to the city

The Executive Board of the Diyarbakır City Council met under the chairmanship of Serra Bucak, Co-Mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and Co-Chair of the City Council. Speaking at the meeting, which addressed construction developments around the Hevsel Gardens and the Ten-Eyed Bridge, Co-Mayor Bucak underlined that they are acting with an approach that prioritises the right to the city.

The City Council Executive Board’s December meeting was held at the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre, attended by Co-Mayor Serra Bucak and members of the Executive Board.

As part of the agenda, members were briefed on the work of the council’s assemblies. This was followed by discussions under the agenda items “Construction Developments around the Hevsel Gardens and the Ten-Eyed Bridge” and “The City Council’s 32nd Ordinary General Assembly”.

Co-Mayor Bucak: The right of this city binds us

Addressing the construction developments around the Hevsel Gardens and the Ten-Eyed Bridge, Co-Mayor Bucak said they are guided by the right to the city and are ready to take short- and medium-term measures. She said: “We will fight this. The right of this city binds us.”
