Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has launched a week of awareness-raising activities as part of 3 December, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The first event in the programme, organised under the leadership of the Department of Services for Persons with Disabilities and Older People, took place at Diyarbakır Stadium. During Amedspor’s home fixture against Erokspor, a banner reading “A new life is possible for persons with disabilities” was displayed in the stands. Amedspor players also entered the pitch carrying the same banner, showing their support.
As part of the department’s organisation for the pre-match ceremony, children with disabilities walked onto the pitch alongside the players.
Pre-match information stand
Before the match, teams from the Department of Services for Persons with Disabilities and Older People set up an information stand at the stadium entrance. Supporters were informed about services and projects for persons with disabilities, as well as the municipality’s support mechanisms.
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality will hold a range of events across the city throughout the week to mark 3 December.
