Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has placed animal food at 50 locations across the city to ensure that stray animals do not go hungry amid heavy snowfall.
The Municipality’s Department of Veterinary Affairs continues its work to feed stray animals as the snowfall intensifies. Operating in the field in three teams, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality is carrying out the efforts in cooperation with the Animal Friends Association, the Animal Rights Federation (HAYTAP), and the Diyarbakır Bar Association’s Animal Rights Centre. Teams have so far placed food at around 50 feeding points identified across the city.
Target: to ensure stray animals have access to food and water
Residents can submit requests for locations that have not yet been identified via the Alo 153 Call Centre. Food distribution is being carried out in the districts of Kayapınar, Bağlar, Yenişehir and Sur in particular, as well as along Mardin Road, in the Çarıklı area, and around parks, cemeteries and public institutions. Through these ongoing efforts at different points across the city, the municipality aims to prevent stray animals from being left without food.
