Disaster awareness training continues

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality is continuing its theoretical and practical disaster awareness training sessions for teachers and students.

The Department of Disaster Affairs is organising awareness trainings in schools on what to do during and after disasters. Within this scope, at the disaster awareness training held at Oğlaklı TOKİ Primary School, teachers and students were informed about what needs to be done in the event of earthquakes, fires and other possible disasters.

Practical training

In the training, students were first instructed on correct behaviour in the face of disasters and during an earthquake, emergency evacuation procedures, and initial response to fires. Afterwards, in the schoolyard, teachers and students were given practical demonstrations on how to intervene in possible fires using fire extinguishers.

Through disaster awareness trainings, the aim is to ensure that citizens exhibit correct behaviour before, during and after disasters by providing education on the necessary measures and responses.

The disaster awareness trainings will continue in other schools in the coming days under the protocol signed with the Directorate of National Education.
