Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality will organise a series of events to mark 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The Department of Women’s and Family Services will hold activities under the slogan “Our Word Is Not Over for a Life without Violence – We Will Stop Violence Together” to mark 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The programme will begin on 11 November at 11:30 with a public statement in front of the Rojin Kabaiş Solidarity Centre.
Between 12–30 November, awareness-raising activities will be carried out in women’s centres, the municipal service building and rural neighbourhoods.
Young Women’s Meeting
On 18 November, a Young Women’s Meeting will be held at the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre between 13:00 and 15:00. On 19 November at 13:30, the play Jin will be staged at the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre.
Cycling tour
On 23 November at 13:00, a cycling tour will be organised in cooperation with the Amed Cycling Group along the Koşuyolu–Ekinciler–Dağkapı route. On 24, 25 and 26 November, information stands will be set up at Ceylan Shopping Mall, Ninova Shopping Mall, Sanat Street and Gazi Avenue.
Saplings to be planted in memory of murdered women
On 25 November at 10:00, saplings will be planted in Kent 2 Park Area in memory of women who have been murdered. On 26 November at 13:30, the film Ceylin will be screened at the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre.
Workshop on combating violence
As part of the programme, a Workshop on Combating Violence against Women will be held on 29–30 November.
