Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality carried out an awareness-raising activity in the Kazancı neighbourhood of Bismil district as part of the campaign launched for 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

The Department of Women and Family Services of the Metropolitan Municipality and the Department of Women and Family Services of Bismil Municipality are continuing the activities of the campaign “Our word is not over, we will stop violence together”, launched for 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

As part of the campaign, women gathered at the event organised in the Kazancı neighbourhood of Bismil district. The session provided information on what constitutes violence against women, ways to combat it, and legal rights.

The session also addressed Law No. 6284 on the Protection of the Family and Prevention of Violence against Women, an important legal regulation in preventing gender-based violence, and emphasised the importance of strengthening and expanding women’s solidarity.
