Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak met with Cologne Mayor Henriette Reker, stating that they wished to carry out joint work on women’s issues, climate and social matters.

Co-Mayor Serra Bucak of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, who is attending the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR) Political Committee Meeting, continues her contacts in Germany. Within this framework, Bucak met with Cologne Mayor Henriette Reker.

After holding in a meeting not open to the press, Co-Mayor Bucak and Reker made a statement in the reception hall.

Request for Joint Work with Cologne Municipality

Inviting Cologne Mayor Reker to Diyarbakır, Bucak stated that they wished to carry out joint work with Cologne Municipality on women’s issues, climate and social matters. Reker, assessing current developments, conveyed messages of solidarity to Co-Mayor Bucak.

Following the speeches, Bucak presented Reker with a ceramic bearing the logo of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and a multilingual book introducing Diyarbakır’s cultural assets.

On behalf of Cologne Municipality, Bucak was also presented with a publication promoting the city.
