Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Doğan Hatun took part in a march organised as part of 21 February International Mother Language Day.

Co-Mayor Doğan Hatun joined the march held on the occasion of 21 February International Mother Language Day under the leadership of the Democratic Institutions Platform. In addition to Co-Mayor Hatun, the march — held under the slogan “Status for Kurdish, education in Kurdish” — was attended by Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Co-Chair Çiğdem Kılıçgün Uçar, MPs, district municipality co-mayors, representatives of civil society organisations, and local residents.

The crowd gathered in Oryıl in Bağlar district and marched from there to Koşuyolu Park. In the statement made after the march, attention was drawn to the importance of protecting mother languages.
