The “Weekend Cinema” programme organised by Sînebîr, the Cinema Unit of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, is launching with its new season selection. A total of 19 films will be screened free of charge every weekend between 13 March and 13 June 2026, bringing cinema lovers together with a rich programme of films.
Organised by Sînebîr, the Cinema Unit of the Department of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs, the Weekend Cinema programme is once again bringing cinema audiences in the city together around the big screen with its new seasonal selection. As part of the programme, which will run from 13 March to 13 June, different films will be shown every weekend.
The programme features 19 films
With screenings to be held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays over a three-month period, the programme will offer audiences a wide-ranging selection. Featuring productions from different genres and styles of storytelling, the programme includes a total of 19 films. The selection, which includes films for children as well as general audiences, aims to strengthen cinema culture in the city and turn weekends into an enjoyable meeting point for viewers.
As part of the programme, special animation screenings for children will be held during the holiday period falling on 20, 21 and 22 March.
The screenings will take place free of charge at the cinema hall of the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre. The films will be presented with Turkish subtitles and dubbed versions, and participants will be able to make reservations via Biletinial.com.
Talks with directors will also be held
Some of the films included in the programme will be presented with the participation of their directors and film crews. In the talks to be held after the screenings, audiences will have the opportunity to meet filmmakers, discuss the films and hear about the production process.
