Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun came together with representatives of different faith groups at an iftar programme.

The Co-Mayors met representatives of various faith communities in Sur district for the iftar gathering. Alongside representatives of different faith groups, the programme was also attended by numerous civil society representatives.

Speaking at the event, Co-Mayor Serra Bucak extended greetings for both Eid al-Fitr and Newroz, and drew attention to the importance of different faiths and identities living together in peace.

Abdullah Sağır, Co-Chair of the Federation of Mesopotamian Islamic Research, also delivered a message of unity and solidarity. Thanking the Metropolitan Municipality for its work, Sağır said that the efforts made were valuable.

The programme concluded with the iftar meal following the speeches.
