Zero-waste approach to meet residents at Sümerpark

As part of International Day of Zero Waste on 30 March, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality will bring the zero-waste approach together with residents through practical activities promoting recycling and sustainable living practices.

The events, to be organised under the leadership of the Department of Climate Change and Zero Waste and the Department of Environmental Protection and Control, aim to strengthen public awareness in line with the goal of creating a more liveable city. In this context, a range of activities will be held at the Sümerpark Common Living Space to mark the International Day of Zero Waste, observed each year on 30 March.

The programme will begin at 10.00 in the morning and continue until 16.00. Depending on weather conditions, information tents will be set up outdoors to provide residents with detailed information on the zero-waste approach and sustainable living practices.

The programme will also include recycling and upcycling workshops, training sessions designed to raise environmental awareness, and hands-on activities in which participants can take an active role. Through these activities, the aim is to raise awareness of how waste can be reused and how a zero-waste lifestyle can be integrated into everyday life.
