Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Doğan Hatun visited the Dengbêj House, where he listened to performances by dengbêjs and underlined the importance of preserving the dengbêj tradition and passing it on to future generations.

Co-Mayor Doğan Hatun visited the Dengbêj House in Sur, which operates under the Department of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs.

During the visit, Co-Mayor Hatun met with dengbêjs, listened to their kilams and spoke with them. He also chatted with residents visiting the Dengbêj House and emphasised the importance of safeguarding the dengbêj tradition and transmitting it to future generations.

As some of the most important bearers of Kurdish oral culture, the dengbêjs offered visitors memorable moments through the strans and kilams they performed during the visit.
