Ayşe Serra Bucak Küçük

Co-Mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality 

 

Ayşe Serra Bucak Küçük currently serves as the Co-Mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. Ayşe Serra Bucak Küçük was born in 1976 in Diyarbakır. She is originally from Siverek, a district of Şanlıurfa. She graduated from Istanbul Cağaloğlu Anatolian High School in 1995.

In 2006, she completed her studies at the University of Cologne in Germany, earning degrees in German Language and Literature and Pedagogy.

From 2006 to 2011, she served as the coordinator of the Educational Support Centre under BaÄŸlar Municipality.

Between 2014 and 2016, she worked as Advisor to the Co-Mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and was also a member of the Municipal Council.

From 2016 to 2022, she took an active role in various projects focusing on children’s rights and women’s issues. In 2018, she became one of the founding members of the Association for Child Studies (ÇocukÇa) and served as chairperson for a term.

Between 2022 and 2023, she was a member of the Diyarbakır Provincial Executive Board of the Green Left Party.

Serra Bucak Küçük was elected as the Co-Mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality in the local elections held in April 2024, receiving 64% of the vote.
