Co-Mayor Bucak Hears Yiğitçavuş Neighbourhood’s Needs First-Hand
Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak met with local business owners and residents in Yiğitçavuş Neighbourhood together with Sur Municipality Co-Mayor Gulan Önkol. During the visit, which provided an opportunity to assess the neighbourhood’s needs on the ground, residents shared their requests.
As part of a visit organised by the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Department of Press, Publications and Public Relations, Co-Mayor Serra Bucak heard local business owners’ and residents’ requests, suggestions and concerns first-hand. Co-Mayor Bucak was accompanied by Sur Municipality Co-Mayor Gulan Önkol, Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Sur District Co-Chair Mehmet Acet, DBB council members and relevant heads of departments.
Meeting Local Business Owners and Residents Face to Face
Visiting businesses in Yiğitçavuş Neighbourhood one by one, Co-Mayor Bucak spoke with local business owners and residents and listened to their requests, suggestions and concerns regarding the neighbourhood. Throughout the visit, she exchanged views with residents on life in the city, municipal services and the neighbourhood’s infrastructure needs.
Co-Mayor Bucak listened to local business owners’ views on working conditions and issues affecting daily life in the neighbourhood and received information from the relevant heads of departments about matters for which residents were seeking solutions.
Residents Raise the Neighbourhood’s Needs and Concerns
Residents directly conveyed their service needs to Co-Mayor Bucak and the accompanying delegation. The discussions focused on requests for street lighting, the placement of rubbish bins at locations where they are needed, the installation of speed bumps to improve traffic safety and changes to the bus route.
Residents said these measures were important for making daily life easier, keeping the neighbourhood clean, improving traffic safety and making public transport services more accessible.
Requests Added to the Work Programme
All requests and suggestions raised by local business owners and residents were recorded for assessment by the relevant units. Co-Mayor Bucak said that the municipality’s ongoing commitment to providing services across the city was continuing in Yiğitçavuş Neighbourhood with the same determination.
Co-Mayor Bucak said the new requests and suggestions had been incorporated into the municipality’s current work programme, adding that the relevant departments would update their field plans accordingly and swiftly implement the necessary measures.
