The ‘Welcome’ stand, established outside Dicle University’s Student Life Centre by the Department of Press, Publications and Public Relations, has concluded its activities. The stand was set up to make it easier for university students to access municipal services.

Operating between 28 September and 23 October 2026, the stand provided an opportunity for the Yerinde Çözüm (Resident Solutions Desk) teams to listen to students’ requests, suggestions and views and record them. The submissions were forwarded to the relevant departments for assessment and follow-up action.

Students’ requests heard

The teams at the stand held face-to-face meetings with students, particularly those who had just started university, to hear their requests and expectations. Forms were completed to enable students to communicate their views on municipal services directly.

During the initiative, students most frequently raised issues relating to transport to the university, cleaning services, social activities and youth gatherings. The requests recorded were reviewed before being passed on to the relevant units.

Diyarbakır’s historical and cultural sites introduced

As part of the initiative, brochures prepared by the Department of Culture, Arts and Social Affairs introduced students to Diyarbakır’s historical and cultural sites. Students were also given copies of the DBB Press Bulletin and refreshments were provided.

Information provided on educational support

Students enrolling at university for the first time were given information about the educational support available from Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. Those wishing to benefit from the support were informed about the application procedures they needed to follow.
