As part of a visit organised by the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Department of Press, Publications and Public Relations, Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak visited local businesses on 1033rd Street in Barış Neighbourhood, Kayapınar district, together with Kayapınar Municipality Co-Mayor Cengiz Dündar, Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Kayapınar District Co-Chair Mehmet Yeşilbaş and council members.

Visiting businesses along the street one by one, Co-Mayor Bucak spoke with local business owners and residents and listened to their requests, suggestions and concerns regarding life in the city and local services.

Residents Raise the Neighbourhood’s Needs

During the visit, residents shared a number of requests with Co-Mayor Bucak, including the creation of new park areas in the neighbourhood, rearranging bus services to ease transport, increasing the frequency of routine cleaning services, installing a speed bump on the main road to improve pedestrian safety and replacing damaged interlocking paving stones.

Co-Mayor Bucak took note of all the requests raised by local business owners and residents and said the necessary planning would be carried out to resolve the issues as soon as possible, in line with the principles of participatory and people-centred municipal services.
