Speaking at a meeting attended by female council members of the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and co-mayors of district municipalities, Co-Mayor Serra Bucak stated that they would prioritise women's issues with the women's council they were going to establish. Female council members of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and female co-mayors of district municipalities gathered under the chairmanship of Co-Mayor Serra Bucak. The meeting, held at the Metropolitan Municipality service building, was attended by district co-mayors and female council members. Speaking at the meeting, Co-Mayor Serra Bucak said that they had gone through an important election period together, adding, ‘We have expressed this on many platforms, but once again, we would like to thank everyone, especially our female friends, for their efforts.’

'Women's issues are our priority'

Noting that municipal services and activities concern everyone, Bucak stated that the women's council they will establish will carry out activities that will influence the municipality's mixed council for five years. Bucak emphasised that they will work collectively with the relevant departments of district municipalities, particularly in terms of women's issues, through the Women's Department, municipality units and the women's council they will establish within the municipality, and stated that women's organisation and women's issues are their priorities.
