Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak attended the opening of the Women’s Works Library of Kayapınar Municipality, stating that women’s truth would be further built within the newly opened library.

The opening of the Women’s Works Library in Park 75 of Kayapınar Municipality was attended by Metropolitan Co-Mayor Serra Bucak, Kayapınar Municipality Co-Mayor Berivan Gülşen Sincar, People’s Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MP Adalet Kaya, along with representatives of civil society organisations, heads of departments and council members.

Speaking at the opening, Kayapınar Municipality Co-Mayor Berivan Gülşen Sincar described the library as a memory for the city, saying: “We are expanding and strengthening our memory.”

Co-Mayor Serra Bucak began her speech by greeting the women attending the opening. Thanking all those who contributed to the Women’s Library, Bucak said: “With the belief and aspiration that women’s knowledge, women’s truth and women’s reality will be further built and expanded in the newly opened Women’s Works Library, and that women’s organisation will also develop on the same basis, I greet you all with respect and affection. Success to us all, may our path be open.”

Following the speeches, the ribbon was cut and the Women’s Works Library was officially opened.

Co-Mayor Bucak and her delegation then toured the Women’s Works Library.
