Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has provided a motorised hospital bed for a citizen in need in Kayapınar and an electric wheelchair for a citizen with disabilities in Yenişehir district.

Department of Adult Social Care to offer free support to ensure that individuals requiring home care due to health conditions or disabilities can access their fundamental health and care rights. Within this scope, the department provided a motorised hospital bed to a citizen residing in Kayapınar and an electric wheelchair to a child with disabilities living in Yenişehir.

The hospital bed and electric wheelchair, collected from the Sümerpark Shared Living Space, were delivered and assembled in the homes of the citizens by municipal teams.

Medical supplies were provided to 357 citizens over 10 months

The Medical Supplies Support Project, run by the Disability Services Unit of the Department of Adult Social Care, provided medical supplies to 357 citizens over the last 10 months. Under the project, disabled and elderly citizens who contact the Department of Adult Social Care via ALO 153 are provided with medical supplies based on their requests and needs, following a social assessment conducted by specialist teams.

Supporting patients' treatment and rehabilitation processes

The medical supplies support project supports patients' treatment and rehabilitation processes. This enables disabled individuals to receive more effective treatment and access the supplies they need.  

10 months of support

Over the last 10 months, 25 electric wheelchairs, 108 manual wheelchairs, 14 manual wheelchairs for children, 38 hospital beds, 160 white canes, and 12 crutches were provided in line with requests.
