Rennes Delegation in Diyarbakır: Bridges of Friendship Are Being Built

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun welcomed Tony Rublon, Chair of the Brittany Kurdish Friendship Association, together with members of the board.

Within the framework of international friendship relations, Diyarbakır hosted a meaningful meeting. Tony Rublon, Chair of the Brittany Kurdish Friendship Association based in Rennes, France, along with board members and Jeremie Chomette, Former President of the Danielle Mitterrand Foundation, visited Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality.

The delegation, received by Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun, both congratulated the Co-Mayors on their electoral success and presented them with a special letter written by the Mayor of Rennes. Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Association Chair Tony Rublon stated that they had come to strengthen the spirit of solidarity and fraternity.

Co-Mayors: We are determined to strengthen solidarity

During the meeting, it was noted that a mutual process would be initiated to establish an official sister city relationship between Diyarbakır and Rennes. Expressing their satisfaction with this meaningful visit, the Co-Mayors said:

“Such exchanges, grounded in peace, culture and fraternity among peoples, enable us to look to the future with hope. We are determined to strengthen this bridge of solidarity between Rennes and Diyarbakır.”

The Co-Mayors were accompanied at the meeting by DBB Council Member Gülay Kılıç, Deputy Chief Executive Zerin Türk, Head of the Department of Strategic Planning and Projects Murat Akbaş, and Head of the Department of Climate Change and Zero Waste Evin Dinar.
