Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality continues to support equal and independent access to urban life for people with disabilities by installing two new electric vehicle charging stations at different locations across the city.
As part of its ongoing work under the motto “Accessible Amed,” the Department of Disability and Elderly Services has added two new stations to those already operating at Sümerpark Disability Support Centre, Dağkapı Square, Sanat Street, Parkorman Shared Life Centre, Kayapınar Mola House and Şehitlik Mola House.
Fast charging for full participation in the city
In response to requests from citizens with disabilities and in areas of high public use, free and fast charging stations have been installed in front of the Metropolitan Municipality Service Building and the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre. In this way, users of electric vehicles can safely charge their vehicles while spending time in the city, without the need to search for sockets or carry charging equipment.
The Disability Services Branch will continue to establish new stations where needed, in line with its planning, to further strengthen the right of people with disabilities to move independently.
