The 3rd Amed International Film Festival in Photos

Hosted by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and delivered by the Middle East Cinema Academy and SîneBîr, the 3rd Amed International Film Festival—held from 7 to 14 December—brought cinema audiences in Diyarbakır together with 84 short films, feature-length films and documentaries over eight days, alongside panels, talks and workshops.

Held under the motto “The world comes together through stories”, the festival made a significant contribution to the city’s cultural and artistic life through screenings at the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre and the Ceylan Karavil Shopping Centre cinema halls. Revived after an eight-year break, the festival brought together productions from Türkiye and other countries, hosting a multilingual and multicultural gathering around cinema.

The festival presented a broad selection across short film, documentary and feature-length categories, while post-screening talks brought film teams together with audiences. Workshops and panels held throughout the programme drew particular interest from young filmmakers and film students.

Alongside the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre, simultaneous screenings at Ceylan Karavil Shopping Centre were followed with strong attendance throughout the week. The festival concluded with an awards ceremony after the final day’s screenings.

Meanwhile, the Yol/Rê Exhibition—prepared with inspiration from Yılmaz Güney’s film Yol—will be open to the public at the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre for one month.
