Film Screening for Women

As part of its activities marking 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality held a free film screening for women.

The Department of Women and Family Services organised a free screening of the film Ceylin to draw attention to violence against women, raise public awareness and strengthen women’s solidarity.

The film—telling the true story of Ceylin, who lives with her family in a tent settlement where seasonal agricultural workers reside—was shown at the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Centre.

The event was attended by women as well as Özden Gürbüz Sümer, Head of the Department of Women and Family Services. While women watched Ceylin, a cartoon screening was held in a “mini cinema” for children who attended with their mothers.
