Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak attended a Christmas Mass held at the Virgin Mary Church (Meryem Ana Kilisesi) in the Sur district.

Co-Mayor Bucak was joined by Halide Türkoğlu, Spokesperson for the Women’s Assembly of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), DEM Party Provincial Co-Chair Gülşen Özer, members of the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Council, and many local residents.

During the service, Father Gabriel Akyüz underlined the importance of celebrating all religious festivals together and in peace, and expressed his hope that the new year would bring peace, well-being and good health.

The Christmas Mass concluded with the lighting of candles and the making of wishes.
