Mesopotamia Water Forum participants visit the Metropolitan Municipality

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Doğan Hatun welcomed guests who are in the city for the 2nd Mesopotamia Water Forum.

As part of the forum, organised in cooperation with the Mesopotamia Water Forum and the Mesopotamia Ecology Movement, academics and environmental activists from a range of countries visited the Metropolitan Municipality.

Co-Mayor Doğan Hatun and the Municipal Council’s Co-Spokesperson Ayhan Karatekin received participants including Mesopotamia Ecology Movement and Ecology Association activists Derya Akyol and Erdoğan Ödük, together with guests from the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Germany, the United States, India, Lebanon, Syria, Iran and Iraq.

The meeting focused on the Forum’s agenda, and the guests thanked the Metropolitan Municipality for its support.

Courtesy call from University of Sulaimani academics

Academics from the University of Sulaimani taking part in the Forum—Dr Fahmy Osman, Dr Dara Faiq, Dr Zhino Khalid and Ms Razan Omer—also paid a courtesy visit to Co-Mayor Hatun.

During the meeting, Co-Mayor Hatun exchanged views with the academics on the Tigris River and water resources across Mesopotamia.
