Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has carried out an awareness-raising activity as part of 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
The Department of Women’s and Family Services is organising activities under the slogan “Our Word Is Not Over for a Life without Violence – We Will Stop Violence Together” to mark 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Within this scope, women attending courses at the Yeniköy Women’s Centre, which operates under the Department of Women’s and Family Services, received training on violence and gender issues.
Sociologist Hatice Bozkoç, who delivered the training, provided information on physical, psychological/emotional, economic, sexual, stalking, online and dating violence, and explained what women should do when they face such situations.
The Department of Women’s and Family Services will continue awareness-raising activities in women’s centres, the municipal service building and rural neighbourhoods until 30 November.
