Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality organised an activity for children to mark 20 November, World Children’s Rights Day.
An event was held in the nurseries and playrooms operating under the Children's Branch Directorate of the Department of Social Services to mark 20 November, World Children’s Rights Day. At the event, which took place in the Sümerpark Shared Living Space, children had fun with music while also learning about their rights.
Children informed about their rights
Lawyer Büşra Eylül Özgültekin, who took part in the event, provided age-appropriate information to children on basic child rights. Through games and conversation, children learned about concepts such as rights, equality, love and safety.
Children expressed their wishes on placards
To mark the day, children made handprint art by painting their hands and printing them on fabric. They then displayed placards bearing slogans related to children’s rights. In this highly productive event, children both enjoyed themselves and gained basic knowledge about their rights.
At the end of the event, balloons were handed out to the children and refreshments were served.
