Education support from DBB for households of 6,631 first-year university students

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality will provide a total of 20,000 TL in education support to households of 6,631 students who have enrolled at university for the first time this year. An initial payment of 10,000 TL has been transferred to each student’s account.

Within the scope of the project carried out by the Department of Social Services, which aims to strengthen equal opportunities in education, support has been provided to households in Diyarbakır whose members have enrolled for the first time at state universities or at 100% scholarship programmes of private universities. Following the assessment made after the application period closed, 6,631 students were found eligible to receive education support.

Of the total 20,000 TL to be provided per student household, the first instalment of 10,000 TL has been deposited into the accounts of 6,631 students.

Second instalment to be paid in February

The second instalment of the total support to be provided under the programme will be deposited into students’ accounts in February.

Notification by SMS

The 6,631 students found eligible to receive education support were informed by SMS.

Support aims to ease families’ burden

Continuing to stand by young people in line with a social municipalism approach, the Metropolitan Municipality aims, through this support, both to ease the financial burden on families and to help students begin their university education on a stronger footing.
