As part of European Mobility Week, a nature walk was organised in the Hevsel Gardens to raise awareness of healthy living and sustainable transport.
In cooperation with Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DTSO), EU Information Centres and Tigris Cycling and Nature Sports Club, the event aimed to highlight the importance of healthy living and sustainable transport.
Starting in front of the Stone Mansion in Fiskaya, Sur district, participants toured the Hevsel Gardens and enjoyed the natural scenery. Speaking at the programme, Temel Cengiz, Head of the Department of Transport, thanked everyone who took part in the event. He noted that Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality supports such initiatives and invited citizens to join the “Car-Free City Day” event to be held on Monday, 22 September.
‘Car-Free City Day’ Walk to Be Held
European Mobility Week events will conclude on Monday, 22 September with the “Car-Free City Day” walk. The walk will start at 09:00 in front of the Nebi Mosque on Gazi Avenue.
