Free Transport Service for Disadvantaged Groups in the City

Within the framework of its social municipality approach, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality provides free intercity transportation for disadvantaged people.

Requests received through “Diyar Masa” and the “Alo 153” support line, both operating under the Press-Publication and Public Affairs Department, are addressed and resolved accordingly.

Citizens' Requests were Answered

Since 15 April, when a significant number of requests regarding transport issues were received, municipal teams have worked diligently to address the needs of citizens from all walks of life.

From transporting patients and their relatives, to enabling university students to travel to the cities where they study; from facilitating condolence visits, to meeting the transport needs of athletes and assisting stranded workers to reach their workplaces — the teams have responded to a wide range of individual requests. They also quickly produced solutions to institutional requests from the Women's Shelter and the Child Protection Agency.

In line with the requests received, the Metropolitan Municipality has covered the cost of intercity bus tickets for disadvantaged citizens.

166 People Benefited from the Service in 25 Days

In this regard, between 15 April and 10 May, 166 disadvantaged people benefited from free transportation after their requests were approved.

The Metropolitan Municipality will continue to assist citizens in line with requests received through the ‘Diyar Masa’ and ‘Alo153’ support lines.
