As part of the third phase of the Women-Friendly Cities Programme (KDK III)—for which the Women’s Policies Department provides local coordination—the KDK Phase-2 Online Training sessions have begun. The training was delivered online from the Çand Amed Culture and Congress Hall, with contributions from UNFPA Local Equality Specialist Bahri Telli.

Managers and staff from 15 municipal departments took part in the training. Representatives from civil society organisations within the Women-Friendly Cities CSO Group also attended, including the Social Workers Association (SHUDER), Rosa Women’s Association, Women’s Culture, Arts and Literature Association (KASED), KAMER Foundation, First Children Association, Children Studies Association, Mesopotamia Psychologists Association, and the Justice for Children Association (ÇİAD).

Planning, governance and monitoring on the agenda

The training—delivered to provide technical support for implementation processes—featured presentations under the headings “Planning, Governance and Monitoring”. It aims to contribute to the development of Local Equality Action Plans (YEEP).

The sessions are intended not only to strengthen the institutional capacity of local authorities, but also to enhance the technical capacity of the civil society organisations forming the KDK CSO Group in the field of local equality.
