Co-Mayors Meet Residents at Ramadan Iftar Tents

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun broke their fast with residents at iftar tents set up for Ramadan at Dağkapı Square and at Tandır Evi Park in Bağlar district.

Throughout Ramadan, the Municipality’s iftar tents—established at Dağkapı Square, Koşuyolu Park, Ben û Sen Park, and Tandır Evi Park in Bağlar—serve 6,500 people daily. Aimed at strengthening the culture of solidarity and sharing, the iftar programmes bring thousands of residents together at a common table across different parts of the city.

Co-Mayor Serra Bucak met residents at the iftar tent at Tandır Evi Park in Bağlar, while Co-Mayor Doğan Hatun attended the iftar programme at Dağkapı Square. Before iftar, the co-mayors greeted residents one by one, visited tables, held conversations, and listened to requests and suggestions.

Welcomed with strong public interest, the co-mayors noted that Ramadan reinforces feelings of solidarity, sharing and unity, and broke their fast alongside residents at the iftar tents.

They were accompanied at the programme by DBB Council Co-Spokesperson Ayhan Karatekin; Bağlar Municipality Co-Mayors Leyla Ayaz and Sıraç Çelik; Sur Municipality Co-Mayor Adnan Örhan; Deputy Secretary General Zerin Türk; and council members.
