Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun received a delegation of artists, educators and cultural workers from Hanover.

As part of a cultural cooperation project between Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and the City of Hanover covering the years 2026–2027, a delegation from Hanover visited Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. The delegation was welcomed by Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun. The meeting focused on cultural cooperation between the two cities.

The visit by the delegation of artists, educators and cultural workers is intended to strengthen the joint cultural work that has been under way between the two cities for several months.

As an outcome of this cooperation, concerts as well as theatre and performance productions are planned to be staged in both Diyarbakır and Hanover in 2027. In the next phase of the cooperation process, a delegation from Diyarbakır is also expected to visit the City of Hanover.
