YKS Application Fee Support Reaches 879 Student Households

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has provided a total of TL 1.171 million in support to 879 student households under its YKS Exam Fee Support scheme, launched to strengthen equality of opportunity in education.

Initiated by the Department of Social Services, the scheme is designed to reduce the barriers faced by children from low-income families in their educational journey. Following social assessments, direct support has been provided to hundreds of student households.

The scheme benefited Year 12 students living within the boundaries of Diyarbakır who applied for the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) for the first time, as well as young people attending the Metropolitan Municipality’s Akademi Lise courses.
