Smart Cards (DİYARKART) Used with the Electronic Fare Collection System and Fare Types
With the introduction of the Electronic Fare Collection System in July 2008, smart cards known as DİYARKART will be introduced for use on public transport vehicles operated by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and on all Private Public Buses.
STANDARD DİYARKART
Passengers wishing to obtain a full-fare card can purchase and top up a FULL-FARE DİYARKART at 122 authorised dealers located across the city. The FULL-FARE DİYARKART costs TRY 70.
Alternatively, passengers can purchase and top up a FULL-FARE DİYARKART using kiosk top-up machines available at 20 locations across the city. The DİYARKART costs TRY 100.
DISCOUNTED CARD
Passengers who meet the eligibility requirements can obtain a discounted card for TRY 70. Fares for journeys made using discounted cards are TRY 8.00 and TRY 15.00.
DİYARKART STUDENT (Primary, Secondary and University Students)
a) Individual applications
Required Documents:
• One passport-sized photograph.
• A photocopy of the applicant’s identity card.
• For primary and secondary school students enrolled in formal education, as well as open education and high school students, the Turkish Republic Identity Number (T.C. Kimlik No.) will be verified using data obtained electronically under the protocol signed with the Ministry of National Education. Where electronic verification is not possible, a student certificate issued within the previous one month and indicating the duration of study must be submitted.
• Students enrolled in distance or open education programmes must provide a document confirming that they are not registered with the Social Security Institution (SGK).
• University and higher education students must provide a student certificate for the relevant academic term, issued within the previous six months.
• Students aged 21 or under who attend Vocational Training Centres, Advanced Technical Institutes or remedial education programmes must apply with a student certificate issued within the previous one month.
• Students who have completed their 13th term at Open Education High Schools or Open Primary Education Schools; those who have exceeded four years of study in two-year programmes or seven years of study in four-year programmes at Anadolu University; and students whose enrolment has been suspended are not eligible for discounted travel.

DİYARKART TEACHER
a) Individual applications
Required Documents:
• A certificate of employment indicating the applicant’s place of work.
• A photocopy of the applicant’s identity card.
• The teacher card is available to teachers employed under Law No. 657 in formal education at state schools; paid teachers and master instructors; teaching staff and academic staff employed at higher education institutions under the Council of Higher Education (YÖK); teachers working at private schools providing formal education under the Ministry of National Education (MEB); teachers working at Public Education Centres; and Qur’an course instructors affiliated with the Presidency of Religious Affairs.
• Teachers and master instructors employed by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, as well as teachers working at rehabilitation centres, must provide a valid document issued within the previous one month confirming their employment.
• A photocopy of the applicant’s identity card showing their Turkish Republic Identity Number (T.C. Kimlik No.).
• One passport-sized photograph.

DİYARKART – AGE 60

Required Documents:
• A photocopy of the applicant’s identity card showing their Turkish Republic Identity Number (T.C. Kimlik No.).

DİYARKART – RETIRED PERSONS
a) Individual applications
Required Documents:
• An approved document issued by the Social Security Institution (SGK) confirming retirement status, or a barcoded pension statement.
• A photocopy of the applicant’s identity card showing their Turkish Republic Identity Number (T.C. Kimlik No.).
• One passport-sized photograph.

DİYARKART – AGE 65 AND OVER
a) Individual applications
Required Documents:
• A photocopy of the applicant’s identity card showing their Turkish Republic Identity Number (T.C. Kimlik No.).

FREE-TRAVEL DİYARKART
a) Individual applications
Passengers entitled to free public transport who wish to benefit from the free-travel DİYARKART can apply to the DİYARKART Application and Distribution Centre of the Bus Operations Directorate of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, provided that they meet the conditions specified below and submit the required documents.
The fee for obtaining a free-travel DİYARKART is TRY 70.
