Service Details

Unemployment is undoubtedly one of the most pressing challenges facing our city. Various statistical data indicate that 60% of the city's working-age population is unemployed.

Such a high unemployment rate cannot, of course, be explained solely by the general employment situation in the country or in our city. Migration is one of the most significant contributing factors.

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality provides vocational training programmes through the Vocational Training Centre at the Sümerpark Community Centre. Courses include Computer Skills, Computerised Accounting, Natural Gas Installation, Plumbing, Textiles, Web Design, Cookery, Automotive Maintenance and Repair, Hairdressing, Skin Care, Public Relations, English, AutoCAD and Effective Speaking and Diction.

The primary aim of these programmes is to equip people who have migrated from rural areas to Diyarbakır with vocational skills, facilitate their economic integration into urban life, and contribute to efforts to tackle unemployment and poverty in the city.
