Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has launched a free counselling service for persons with disabilities regarding preference procedures.
The Department of Services for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly has started to provide free counselling at Sümerpark Shared Living Space for the 2025-EKPSS/Draw (Placement of Disabled Public Personnel) preference procedures. The counselling service, which began today, will continue until 27 January on weekdays between 12.00 and 17.00.
Persons with disabilities who applied for counselling expressed their satisfaction with the service.
‘We Thank All the Teachers’
Rojda Solmaz, who received counselling for her EKPSS preferences, said that she was able to complete her preferences thanks to the service: “I had done some research on EKPSS preferences. We had heard that they would be assisting us here at Sümerpark. We came and made our preferences through the system. We thank all the teachers who helped us here.”
Citizens Muhammet Cennet and Mensure Taruk also expressed their happiness at receiving support from the instructors regarding their preferences, and thanked the teachers for their efforts.
‘Our Support Will Continue Until 27 January’
Emin Baran, one of the instructors providing guidance and counselling services, stated that during the preference period they were not only offering counselling and guidance to citizens with disabilities in need of support, but also assisting them in making their choices. Baran continued:
“When making preferences, we share with them the places where they are likely to be placed and especially the research we have conducted on preferences. In order to make it easier for them to make their choices, we provide support in line with their requests. We will continue this support until 27 January.”
Baran invited citizens with disabilities who need support and have difficulty in making their preferences to apply to the Department of Services for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly.
