Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality will provide free public transport throughout the Ramadan Feast. On the eve of the Feast and the first day, 44 buses will operate services to cemeteries across the city.
The Department of Transport has launched a comprehensive preparation programme to ensure that residents do not face any difficulties during the Ramadan Feast. Public transport vehicles will provide free services across the city during the holiday (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). In addition to free travel, the number of public transport vehicles will be increased, services will be made more frequent, and additional personnel will be assigned.
257 vehicles to serve on 89 routes
On the eve and during the Feast, both vehicle and personnel numbers will be increased, with additional buses and routes serving mosques and cemeteries. A total of 257 vehicles and 487 personnel will operate on 89 routes. As part of the programme implemented by the Department of Transport, 44 buses will specifically serve citizens travelling to mosques and cemeteries during the eve and the holiday. The number of night-duty vehicles will be raised from 32 to 42, and services will continue until 1 a.m.
Traffic signal teams on duty
To prevent traffic congestion and respond to potential technical failures, traffic signal teams will remain on duty both day and night, with interventions coordinated from the traffic control centre in case of emergencies.
