A delegation from the Brittany Kurdish Friendship Association visited the Agroecology Climate School established by Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality.
Coming from the city of Rennes in France, the delegation of the Brittany Kurdish Friendship Association visited the Department of Zero Waste and Climate Change of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality. Evin Dinar, Head of the Department, shared the municipality’s work in the fields of environmental sustainability, zero waste and combating climate change with Association Chair Tony Rublon, board members, and Jeremie Chomette, Former President of the Danielle Mitterrand Foundation.
Delegation tours the Climate School
As part of the visit, the delegation toured the Agroecology Climate School, where nature-friendly production models and ecological education activities are reflected on the ground through a holistic approach. Members of the delegation expressed that they were deeply impressed by both the philosophical foundation and the concrete practices of the school, describing the experience as inspiring for them.
Goal of establishing an Agroecology Campus
During the meeting, the Metropolitan Municipality also shared its goal of establishing a larger-scale Agroecology Campus. In line with this vision, expectations for financial and technical support were conveyed. The delegation stated that they would communicate this request to the Mayor of Rennes and affirmed that they would do their part in this matter.
