Within the scope of awareness-raising activities carried out on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, municipal departments were visited, information sessions were held and multilingual banners were hung on buses.
Under the motto “Our word for a life without violence and in freedom is not over yet – we will stop violence together”, the Metropolitan Municipality Women’s Council visited municipal units, providing information on the council’s purpose, structure and objectives. During the visits, the council shared its work aimed at strengthening women’s participation in decision-making processes, enhancing institutional solidarity and mainstreaming a gender equality perspective across the municipality.
‘The aim is to strengthen the sense of solidarity’
To draw attention to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November, members of the Women’s Council distributed solidarity bracelets to women employees. The initiative was described as aiming to build awareness against violence towards women and to reinforce a shared sense of solidarity.

In addition, the Department of Transport placed banners on the fronts of buses operating in the city centre and districts, prepared in Turkish, Kurmancî and Kirmanckî, drawing attention to violence against women.
