Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun hosted the theatre professionals who took part in the preparatory meeting for the 11th International Amed Theatre Festival.

Actor and director Uwe Eric Laufenberg; director, playwright and actor Ihsan Othmann from Duhok; Marharyta Korniushchenko, Head of the Literary Department at the Kharkiv State Academic Ukrainian Drama Theatre; and Dr Jessica Atwooki Kaahwa, President of the International Theatre Institute (ITI Worldwide), who attended the preparatory meeting for the 11th International Amed Theatre Festival to be held from 24 April to 2 May 2026 under the theme “Dialogue for Peace” in cooperation between the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipal Theatre (DBŞT) and the International Theatre Institute (ITI Worldwide), visited Co-Mayors Serra Bucak and Doğan Hatun of the Metropolitan Municipality.

Following the welcome, the Co-Mayors held a meeting with the guests. The meeting included an exchange of views on the preparatory work for the International Amed Theatre Festival.

Expressing their satisfaction with the visit, the Co-Mayors thanked the theatre professionals.

During the visit, DBB Council Member Canan Efe Şahin, Deputy Chief Executive Emrah Erdal, Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs Zeynep Yaş, and Theatre Director Tahir Baykuşak accompanied the Co-Mayors.
