DBB media team outperforms major metropolitan municipalities on social media

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality’s Press and Communications Office has outperformed many major metropolitan municipalities, ranking 4th in a report comparing the social media performance of 30 metropolitan municipalities across Türkiye.

According to the report prepared by media monitoring company Ajans Press, which compares the social media performance of 30 metropolitan municipalities nationwide, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality’s Press and Communications Office ranked 4th with a total of 256,257 interactions on X, Instagram and Facebook combined, surpassing many larger cities.

More than 229,000 interactions on Instagram demonstrate the impact of the municipality’s strategies to channel its visual content production and community outreach into digital platforms. With over 12,000 interactions on X and around 15,000 on Facebook, the municipality has achieved consistent engagement across all three platforms. Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has reached this level of success without running any advertising campaigns, relying entirely on its own means.

This rise in Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality’s digital communications confirms that social media is being used effectively as a tool to promote the projects and services implemented in the city to wide audiences.

The data presented in the report show that Diyarbakır is enhancing its digital visibility not only at regional but also at national level.
