DBB Holds Talks on Combating Addiction in Germany

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality continues its work on combating substance addiction and promoting public health at an international level.

The Substance Addiction Counselling and Training Centre, affiliated with the Department of Social Services, took part in a programme organised by the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) in various cities in Germany. As part of the programme, four different addiction centres in Berlin, Bochum and Hanover were visited.

During the visits, institutions exchanged experiences and developed collaborations on methods that could be applied in the fight against addiction. In addition, a presentation on addiction was delivered on behalf of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality during the day of expertise.

Within the framework of the programme, contacts were also made with institutions working in the fields of migration, law and public health, in addition to efforts to combat addiction.
