Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak has been re-elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye.

The Ordinary Assembly Meeting of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB) for May 2026 was held in Ankara. Convening with elections on its agenda, the TBB Assembly elected the Union President, Executive Committee members, Assembly Presidential Council and specialised committee members. Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Co-Mayor Gülay Kılıç attended the meeting.

Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer and Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fırat Görgel were nominated for the presidency of the Union. According to the results of the election held at the Union Assembly, Mersin Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Vahap Seçer was elected TBB President after receiving the votes of 446 assembly members. Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fırat Görgel received 311 votes.

The new members of the Union’s Executive Committee are as follows: “Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Co-Mayor Serra Bucak, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere, Ardahan Mayor Faruk Demir, Ağrı Municipality Co-Mayor Hazal Aras, Artvin Mayor Bilgehan Erdem, Edirne Mayor Filiz Gencan, Nevşehir Mayor Rasim Arı, Zonguldak Mayor Tahsin Erdem, Çatalca Mayor Erhan Güzel, Karaköprü Mayor Nihat Çiftçi, Gölbaşı Mayor Yakup Odabaşı, Selçuk Mayor Filiz Ceritoğlu Sengel and Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik.”

Following the elections, the TBB Executive Committee held its first meeting under the leadership of Union President Vahap Seçer.
