Co-Mayor Bucak conducted inspections for the protection of Hevsel Gardens and the Tigris Valley

Serra Bucak, Co-Mayor of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality, conducted inspections in Hevsel Gardens and the Tigris Valley, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List, emphasising the importance of protecting the region.

Visiting the Tigris River Valley and Hevsel Gardens, Bucak stressed the importance of protecting nature. Bucak requested that the relevant departments carry out studies on what could be done to preserve the natural state of the Tigris Valley and Hevsel Gardens, create walking trails, keep the environment clean, and facilitate the transport of vegetables and fruits grown by farmers in the Hevsel Gardens.

‘Hevsel Gardens and the Tigris Valley Must Be Protected’

Bucak stated that a mobile inspection team should be established in order to ensure the protection of the Hevsel Gardens and the Tigris Valley and to prevent unlisencet businesses in the area.

Co-Mayor Bucak met with farmers in the Hevsel Gardens and listened to their requests.

During the inspections in the Tigris Valley and Hevsel Gardens, Co-Chair Bucak was accompanied by Deputy Chief Executive ReÅŸat Bakan and department heads.
