Digital Youth Centre to open

Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality’s Diyarbakır Digital Youth Centre (DİGEM), established under the “Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Professions” project financed by the European Union and supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will open on 23 October.

The “Today’s Youth, Tomorrow’s Professions” project, implemented with a budget of €7.9 million provided by the European Union, was launched in cooperation with the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (TBB). The project aims to establish Digital Youth Centres in 45 provinces and districts across Türkiye.

The project seeks to strengthen Türkiye’s workforce on the basis of gender equality by building digital capacity for the professions of the future. In this context, it targets equipping young people with skills in fields such as artificial intelligence, software development, digital marketing, digital design, e-commerce and data analysis.

DİGEM will offer new opportunities for young people

Located within the Sümerpark Community Hub, under the Metropolitan Municipality, Diyarbakır DİGEM will offer young people new opportunities in the digital sphere thanks to its central location and modern infrastructure. In line with the curriculum developed for the project, hybrid (in-person and online) trainings will be delivered at the centre. In addition to training, mentoring and advisory services will be provided to support young people’s employment pathways.

Opening on 23 October

The centre, which will encourage young people to pursue careers in the digital field and is expected to make a significant contribution to the city and the region, will open on Thursday, 23 October.
